BEHIND THE SCENES - GRATEFUL SCULPTURES

All 100 mini fiber sculpture I made for my KBT Wall of Gratitude / #the100dayproject and the ultimate inspiration for my larger Grateful Sculptures.

This past April, I took part in an online art project— #the100dayproject. For 100 days, I made a small creation of my choosing to deepen my creative practice and explore something new. I choose to make one tiny fiber sculpture each day that would ultimately create a larger body of work that I call the KBT Wall of Gratitude.

While making these sculptures, I would meditate on something that I found myself grateful for in that moment or during that week. This project allowed me to build a practice of gratitude as well as stash bust through some of the yarns in my studio.

Sculptures representing days 61-67 of #the100dayproject.

I documented my sculptures each week on instagram and shared the grateful memories I was thinking of. It was a really sweet time and I loved doing it!

I updated my instagram each Friday showing the group of sculptures I created over the course of the week. You can check out the captions with what I found myself grateful for on my insta!

So much so that I’ve been scheming on how to make bigger versions ever since! Enter in the Grateful Sculptures— an elevated version of my KBT Wall of Gratitude.

I love the gestural, sturdy shapes and the movement they hold. My hope is that upon adoption, these sculptures can be physical manifestations of something that you’re grateful for and a day-to-day reminder to hold onto gratitude even in the toughest of times.

Stay hopeful and golden, friends.
