JUNE

Moments captured, audios listened to, and books read in & out of the studio in June 2025.

June has been a sweet month of taking on new challenges, nesting in new places,
and saying
yes to spontaneity!

I moved into my new house, which (turns out) has some of the cutest corners for photographing decor knots and other artworks. It’s such a win when good staging and lighting already exists in a space! I’m so stoked that this move came with so many upgrades and fun surprises that I wasn’t expecting. Being in walking distance to my studio is also a HUGE plus. What a dream!

I also brought another dream to reality by investing in my very own miter saw! Why is this such a big deal, you ask? Because your girl has been fantasizing about making her own floater frames, lol!

Now I’m able to level up my upcoming artworks with frame options - what a game changer! I tested out this dream by framing up the new pieces in my soon-to-be-released Use What You Have collection. Happy dances were had when those artworks got framed up! 💃

In other news, KHA studio went on the road this month! Though my fiber artwork is very loosey-goosey and organic in shape and feel, I tend to be a person who relishes in routines and consistency. It can be hard for me to say “yes” to last minute trips that take me away from my home base. Buuuut a goal of mine this year is to expand my comfort level, so when I got the invite to work for a week at the beach, I made a portable stretcher frame and took a project to the Carolina coast!

Wowie, am I glad I did! To sit on a screened in porch and have idyllic ocean and marsh views while I punched out a new artwork was an absolute gift. I think I’ll be saying a big ole yes! more often …
