Concept:
As I was making this work, I had the song ”Coming Out of the Darkness” by Dr. Dog playing on repeat in my head. This piece is and ode to that song and the emergence of a new season. Winter was rough, but the promise of new life and growth is upon us with the longer days and warmer weather ahead. Through the process of making this piece, I felt as if I was finally crawling out from under a rock and emerging into the light anew. Darker spots begin to fade out and playful colors take up more space as the piece rises toward the sky.
