Concept:
Serenity is what I long for in this moment. A reprieve from the summer’s heat. A reprieve from the global, collective grief for the state of our world.
These knots are my touchstones to serenity. As I wound these knots, I imbued the unending hope of finding serenity now and in the long-term. The soft, natural color palette became a call to the colors of changing leaves that will show themselves in the coming weeks.
May these Serene Knot Sculptures remind you that the season - both literal and metaphorical - will change. It won’t be like this forever. And until then, let us hold each other close in love and justice.
